Norway 3-2 Senegal: Haaland Strikes Late in Thriller

Norway edged Senegal 3-2 in a five-goal thriller at MetLife Stadium, with Erling Haaland scoring the winner in the 89th minute to keep Norway top of Group I.

Norway and Senegal served up a thrilling encounter at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford. Erling Haaland's 89th-minute winner gave Norway a 3-2 victory, keeping them top of Group I with six points.

Senegal took the lead in the 15th minute through Diallo, who slotted home after a through ball. Norway equalized in the 22nd minute via a long-range strike from Martin Ødegaard.

Haaland won and converted a penalty in the 44th minute to put Norway 2-1 ahead.

Senegal fought back in the 68th minute, with Kalidou Koulibaly heading home from a corner to make it 2-2.

Just when it seemed the points would be shared, Haaland pounced on a cross from Alexander Sørloth in the 89th minute, sliding in to score his second of the game.

Norway coach Ståle Solbakken praised his team's resilience: 'It was a crazy game, but we showed great character. Haaland is a world-class player who makes the difference.'

Senegal have one point from two games and still have a chance to qualify. They face France in their final group match, while Norway take on Iraq.
